WASHINGTON, Sept. 11, 2009 - The National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Va., unveiled the latest revisions to its Global War on Terror exhibit today, commemorating the eighth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
St. Sebastian, whose feast the Church celebrates Jan. 20, is one of three patron saints of Rome, ranking after the apostles Peter and Paul. Those two were elderly Jews when they were martyred in Rome around 79 AD. In contrast, Sebastian was a Gentile soldier from Milan who died for the Faith in 287.
Rome (CNA)- A "lost chapel" honoring those who died in southern Italy during the Second World War has been rediscovered in an Italian building’s storeroom. It had been dedicated as "a perpetual monument to the ideals of chivalry and the brotherhood" which inspired the soldiers.
